As early as the turn of the 20th century, people in Wynigen were already thinking about founding their own “Kassa-Institut”. It was to be another three decades before the decision was made in 1929, after thorough investigations, to found the Spar- und Leihkasse Wynigen AG. Now or never!
The development of the bank has been quiet but satisfactory for many years. It was not until the 1970s that there was a significant boost: the balance sheet total and reserves doubled within a decade.
The success required new, larger premises. In 1977, Spar- und Leihkasse Wynigen AG was able to move into its own premises, which were appropriate to the increased business volume in terms of furnishings and security requirements.
