On May 7, with the authorisation of the Hungarian Financial Supervisory Authority (PSZÁF), GRÁNIT Bank, founded and owned by entrepreneur Sándor Demján, started its activity. Right from the beginning, this wholly Hungarian and privately owned bank has chosen to adopt a digital business strategy, serving its customers without a branch network, primarily through electronic channels. From 20 June 2013 to early 2018, the Hungarian State was a minority shareholder as a result of subsequent capital increases.
