About Walden Venture Capital

Founded in the mid 1970s by Art Berliner and soon followed by George Sarlo, the name “Walden” was inspired by the book of the same name by noted transcendentalist Henry David Thoreau. He mused on the importance of focus, single mindedness and being a contrarian. We embrace these values and seek to challenge the status quo, “hearing a different drummer” and attaining “success unexpected in common hours”. Walden has a long history of delivering top quartile returns to its investors, building deep value for founders and management teams while delivering joy to end users in the consumer or enterprise markets.  Walden is actively investing $100+ million Fund VIII which closed to new investors at the end of 2014.
