Circulating supply

What is Circulating supply?

Circulating supply is the number of coins that are accessible and circulate in the cryptocurrency market. The number of coins in the market can change over time depending on the setup of each individual cryptocurrency or token. Minable coins such as Bitcoin will record an increase in the circulating supply until it reaches a maximum supply of 21 million.

In contrast, some coins have a pre-defined program for a reduction in the form of token burn or coin burn, which removes a certain quantity from the market. The burning of tokens means that the circulating supply decreases over time. By burning tokens and reducing the circulating supply, developers and creators expect to see an increase in the value of the altcoin.
