March 26, 2012 – bunq was founded in 2012, when Ali Niknam (CEO) set out to radically change the traditional banking industry and create the bank of The Free. Since then, we’ve been conquering the world of banking and building a product that breaks so many world-firsts, we’ve lost count.
September 26, 2014 – We got our official banking licence from the Dutch Central Bank (DNB) in 2014, putting bunq on the road to banking success.
