About Aroostook County Federal Savings and Loan Association
Since 1936, we have been dedicated to serving the people of Aroostook County and our members, who own our mutual Association. The decision to start the mutual savings association was easy at the time. During the depression, people were having a hard time to acquire the financing they needed to buy or build a home. The Federal Home Loan Bank of Boston issued a federal banking charter on July 24th, 1936 to form a new local bank that would be sensitive and responsive to the credit needs of the citizens of Aroostook County and the small businesses located here. We opened our doors in Caribou as Aroostook County Federal Savings & Loan Association and since that time we have been committed to the mission of helping our people in the communities we serve.
