About Gorham Savings Bank
1868 – Commenced business with Captain Toppan Robie as the first bank president. GSB was open from 1pm-4pm on Saturdays. The first deposit was made by James C. Jewett in the amount of 10 cents.
1904 – Opened Narragansett Block Office.
1959 – Moved to 64 Main Street, which featured a 25,000-pound vault door, drive-thru window, and children’s counter.
