Banque Heritage Uruguay – previously Banco Surinvest – was acquired by Banque Heritage Switzerland in 2007 (the only local bank with a Swiss bank parent company). The Bank in Uruguay was formed in 1981 by large financial institutions (IFC, Rabobank, and HSBC) to serve corporate clients in the region with regards to trade finance and corporate banking activities.
