About Casablanca Stock Exchange
The creation of the Casablanca Stock Exchange dates back to 1929. At that time, it bore the name of Office de Compensation des Valeurs Mobilières.
The growing importance of the securities market and the establishment of exchange control, prompted the authorities of the time to improve and regulate its organization and operation. In 1948, the Office de Compensation des Valeurs Mobilières became the Office de Cotation des Valeurs Mobilières.
However, the organization of the market hampered its attractiveness at a time when savers were showing increasing interest in investing in the stock market.
